Kirkland Criterium

Family and I headed down to Kirkland to check out the Kirkland Criterium.  We arrived in time to watch the last two races - Women's CAT 1/2/3 and Men's PRO 1/2 - the fast folks.
No real race report here - just a few semi-lame pictures from the event....

Women's field rips up the course.

Small expo area included Baron, who make some nice steel frames and interesting bikes.

Baron steel race frame, naked for inspection and ready for paint.

Baron 'cross bike.  Pretty sweet looking.  I'm a sucker for steel frames mixed with carbon parts.

Gregg's Cycles had this cool looking orange Trek Madone on display.  Would look even cooler if they bagged the wheel reflectors before setting it up.

Downtown Kirkland beach front - one of a few in Kirkland.  Kirkland is a great place to spend some time.  Water views, places to eat, and shops - including uBRDO and Kirkland Cycle.

More action from the women's race.

Men's field gets ready to rumble.

These dudes are fast.

Short crit' course allowed plenty of spectator viewing.

The speed blurs the camera and the senses.

Not a huge crowd at this race, but it's only the 2nd year for this event. Takes some time to build up a following.  Downtown Kirkland is a perfect spot to hold a criterium, I hope this race continues and grows with future editions.

Adios and good night from Kirkland, Washington....
